Arrive Alive

Bridgehampton School students recently took part in the impactful “Arrive Alive” program, an interactive experience designed to highlight the dangers of impaired and distracted driving. The nationally recognized program uses a high-tech simulator that allows students to safely experience what it feels like to drive while distracted, under the influence or impaired. The goal is to build awareness and encourage safe decision-making behind the wheel. Our students had the opportunity to step inside the simulator and see firsthand how reaction time, focus and judgment are affected, reinforcing critical life lessons that extend far beyond the classroom. “It’s such an important program,” interim superintendent Brigid Collins shared after observing students participate. “I appreciate that our students gain this critical life lesson and understanding.” A special thank you to Jenna Pluta for her thoughtful coordination in scheduling the event in a way that minimized disruption to the school day while maximizing student participation. With beautiful weather adding to the experience, it was a meaningful and memorable day of learning for all involved.
